The Statistical Observation for Incidence, Trend and Growth of Three Kinds of Milk Fed Infants during the years of 1968 to 1971 at Well-bady Clinic, Ped. Dept, NMC.

Abstract
The statistical analysis for incidence, trend and growth of 2,304 infants, nursed with one of three kinds of milk (Breast milk, cow¢¥s milk and mixed milk) from birth to 6 months of age during the years of Jan. 1968 to Dec. 1971, was made. The results were obtained as follow:
1) According to years, the incidence of breast milk feeding was decreased from 60.4% in 1968 to 46.3% in 1971, and cow¢¥s or mixed milk fed infants were slightly increased from 16.5% and 23.1% in 1968 to 25.9% and 27.8% 1971, respectively.
2) According to the ages of mothers, the incidence of breast milk feeding among the infatns of older aged is lower than the infants of younger aged.In mothers below 25 years of age, incidence. of breast-feeding trended to increase from 62.1% in 1968 to 72.1% in 1971, but in mothers of 2527 years and over 30 years of age, much decreased from 65.9% and 53:8% in 1968, to 50.5% and 37.1 % in 1971, respectively.
3) According to No. of parity, the incidence of breast milk feeding in the babies of primipara is higher (mean 55.9%) than the babies of multipara (mean 49.296) and revealed decrease in both groups from 61.5% and 59.2% in 1968 to 47.2% and 45.2% in 1971, respectively.
4) Independently of tha occupation of mother, incidence of breast milk feeding was decreased rom 67.1% and 13.3% in 1968 to 49.6% and 9.8% in 1971, respectively.
5) The growth rates, according to the weight and height were not signific antly different among three kinds of milk fed infants and years. Average height is slightly taller in 1970 and 1971 than in 1968 and 1969.
